About
ysella lobb (b. 1974, Montreal, Canada)
Multidisciplinary artist based in South Burgundy, France.
After a career in editorial illustration, mural painting, and digital concept art, I’ve transitioned to sculpting my drawings—creating playful, character-driven ceramic works that explore themes of unity, inclusivity, and environmental awareness through a lighthearted visual language.
My process begins with traditional drawing materials—markers, watercolours, ink, and charcoal—before moving into hand-built sculptures using mid-fire ceramic and paper clay. Surfaces are carved with organic textures and finished raw, airbrushed, or brushed with underglazes, oxides, and glossy glazes. The result is a unique blend of street art, character design, and toy aesthetics rooted in my background as an illustrator, street artist and visual storyteller.
Playful ceramic creatures bridging illustration and sculpture to explore unity, ecology, and storytelling through a vibrant, character-driven world.
